Phil Martie, Founder & CEO of Nicolette
The most addressable area of improvement in care is putting the parent at the center of care and empowering them with technology. – Phil Martie
PREEMIEWORLD: How long have you been working in your field?
PHIL: 4 Years
PREEMIEWORLD: Why did you choose your current profession?
PHIL: My wife and I had 25-week micro-preemies. The experience was life-changing and compelled me to change careers and launch Nicolette.
PREEMIEWORLD: What do you want other professionals to know about what you do?
PHIL: I have the privilege of leading a passionate team that builds technology for NICU families. We strongly believe that giving parents powerful technology as a part of care improves the baby’s health outcomes, reduces stress, and saves money.
PREEMIEWORLD: What advice do you give to preemie parents?
PHIL: Believe in yourself. You have the ability to be an excellent caregiver, and your instincts are meaningful. Be hands-on and view yourself as a member of the NICU team.
PREEMIEWORLD: Fun Facts: Tell us a fun or quirky fact about you
PHIL: Growing up, I wanted to be a filmmaker! I produced a short film in college.
PREEMIEWORLD: Is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
PHIL: Family, startup, and running. That’s life at the moment!
