Alhan Rahimi is the author of ‘My Preemie Sister is One.’  Alhan tells the story through the eyes of her three-year old daughter, Hala when her new baby sister is born premature and needs to stay in the hospital with her mom.  Throughout the book, young Hala’s feelings are revealed when her mom leaves her with grandma and while viewing her sister “in a glass box” and how she feels when mom holds her sister. The book aptly expresses big sisters feelings about her sibling from before birth to walking years with simplistic clarity and sweet illustrations to support the story.

This book is recommended for preemie parents with young children at home and children’s caretakers while mom and dad are caring for a premature infant.
