In our August edition of our Preemie Family newsletter we learned about Andrew Ramgahan, a 24-weeker who was 1 lb. 15 oz. at birth and spent 137 days in the NICU. Read more in an update by his mother, Monisha.
by Monisha Ramgahan, Andrew’s Mother:
After 137 days in the NICU, our son Andrew who was born at 24 weeks and 6 days was able to breathe on his own and we brought him home.
Today he is a curious 4.5 years old, still showing us his same personality while he was in the NICU, determined and independent.
He has started Montessori school and enjoys playing with his friends and learning new things. Community programs, therapists, and teachers have guided us with some of Andrews’s developmental delays. Their love and dedication have allowed us to feel so supported in helping Andrew be the beautiful boy he is today.
Our experience in the NICU has changed us completely. As parents we were humbled by our stay. We appreciate more today and express more gratitude for the allthe blessings and milestones in Andrews life.
