Why 1000 Days Congress ?
As you know, the future health of a child is largely determined within the first 1000 days after conception, ie during pregnancy + at the first two years. It’s supported by many scientific studies that the right nutrition in this period, especially the importance of breast milk. Malnutrition in the first 1000 days is not only due to chronic diseases, increased psychiatric disorders, deterioration of physical, cerebral and metabolic functions, but also impairment of the immune system and therefore pneumonia, diarrhea etc. It also leads to increased infections. Proper nutrition in the first 1000 days is also a factor that can affect maternal and infant mortality rates. Despite all the socioeconomic and cultural changes in our country, it’s known that there are problems with proper and adequate nutrition. It’s confronted as a problem that needs to be solved in order to give birth to a large number of children, early and late age pregnancies, short periods between pregnancies, lack of knowledge about nutrition, difficulties in achieving the necessary nutrients, anemia in pregnancy, diabetes.
