We help individuals and families heal by providing counseling, educational classes, and easy access to resources.
The vision of Lighthouse Counseling and Family Resource Center is to build healthy families and communities.
Lighthouse Counseling and Family Resource Center was formed in 1996 as part of the Western Placer Unified School District (WPUSD) serving only families with children attending WPUSD. In 2005, Lighthouse became a separate 501c3 non-profit which allowed Lighthouse to expand its services and serve more families in the Lincoln area. Continually expanding its reach across Placer County, today Lighthouse is a full-service Counseling & Family Resource Center serving approximately 3,000 Placer County residents each year. Lighthouse’s reputation for providing quality services to individuals and families in need continues to grow and over time has received numerous awards.
In 2010, 2012 and 2013, Lighthouse won the “Best Non-Profit Award” given by the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. In 2012, Lighthouse won “Best in Collaboration on a Long-Term Basis” from the Placer Collaborative Network. In 2013, Lighthouse was awarded “Best of the Best” from the Lincoln News Messenger in the categories of Best Overall Non-profit and Best Customer Service. Surpassing even our own expectations, in 2014, Lighthouse was honored to receive five awards for “Best of the Best” by the Lincoln News Messenger. The awards were for the categories of Best Non-Profit, Best Customer Service, Best Office Staff, Best Website and Best Volunteer. In 2015, we won “Best of the Best” for Best Website and Best Place to Work.
Lighthouse was recently recognized by the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce as the 2017 Outstanding Nonprofit of the Year. Lighthouse was also a 2017 finalist for the Rocklin Chamber of Commerce in the categories of Certified Smile Maker Award and Community Service Organization of the Year. Our Executive Director was also nominated as Business Person of the Year. Over the years, Lighthouse has received multiple Certificates of Recognition from Senator Ted Gaines, Assembly Member Kevin Kiley, U.S. Congressman Tom McClintock, and the Lincoln Community Foundation. Overall, Lighthouse enjoys a very positive reputation for providing quality, professional, caring and collaborative services within Placer County.
